Who Is Avery?
“Avery Allen” is the performer name created by Dayna Magee in early 2011 when she was first introduced to pole. Although “Avery” no longer performs, the name found meaning when creating the studio in late 2014.
About Dayna
After moving to Aberdeen in late 2010, and later beginning work at a local bar, she was first introduced to pole dance. Immediately mesmerized by it, she set out to learn how to fly.
By late 2014, with her love of pole growing and a lack of nearby options for pole studios, she began teaching what she knew to others who desired to learn the art. What started in a small basement room, equipped with a single pole for private lessons, has grown into a studio full of passionate students with a willingness to learn the sport. The new studio space, which was built onto the existing property, opened it’s doors in March 2016. With 6 poles, floor to ceiling mirrors, among other additions, the studio now has the capacity to host a variety of group class options.
Most of her early learning was attained by watching YouTube videos. Through much trial and error, fail after fail, she eventually learned how to maneuver herself on the chrome. Because of this self teaching, she became aware of how to break down moves and create new shapes using the fundamentals she had learned. As pole continues to evolve as a recognized sport, she has taken steps to further her own education by attending workshops and utilizing online teachings.
